Bay 1, the walk-around
Maintenance that catches wear early
Oil, tune-ups, tire rotations, brake inspections and fluid checks on a 5,000 to 7,500 mile rhythm.
Chapter 01
What slips between visits
Nothing on a car fails all at once. Oil darkens and thins a little more each week, a brake fluid reservoir drifts low, and a front tire wears down its inside edge while the steering still feels fine. By the time a driver notices, the part that wore out has usually started wearing the part beside it.
Fluids, filters and tire wear are the three places drivers lose ground between visits. Short winter trips up and down Greenville Drive never let an engine burn off moisture, and salted roads chew at everything underneath. None of it shows on the dash until the repair is a big one.
That is the whole case for routine maintenance. The easiest repair is the one a walk-around finds first.

What the inspection looks at
A maintenance visit at Zentner's covers the oil change, the tune-up items, a tire rotation, a brake inspection and a fluid check, all in one pass. When something felt off on the drive in, a detailed diagnostic goes on the same ticket.
ASE-certified technicians do the looking, and what they find goes into a same-day estimate. You see the list before anything is done. The shop will match any written price, and it handles warranty and insurance work when a repair turns out to be covered.
Any make or model is welcome. Wait with complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee or a soft drink, or ask about pickup and delivery if the day will not bend.
Chapter 03
5,000 to 7,500 miles and a Wisconsin winter
The shop's guidance is a visit every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. Where a car lands in that range depends on how it is driven. Stop-and-go through Appleton and Grand Chute leans toward the short end, steady highway miles toward the long end.
The fall visit is the one worth keeping. Going into winter with fresh oil, tires that still have tread and brakes that were looked at before the first salt truck leaves the cold with less to work on.
Call (920) 734-6109 Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and the shop will work out what your car is due for. For a breakdown outside those hours, 24/7 emergency service is available.
Family-owned and locally operated for over 60 years, with ASE-certified technicians and a same-day estimate on whatever the walk-around finds.
The walk-around, written as a ticket
Every line on the ticket is something a technician looks at with their own eyes. Tell the service writer what you have noticed, even if it seems small. A faint squeal on the first cold start or a pull on the highway is exactly what the last line is for.
Whatever turns up is explained before any work starts, so the ticket you sign is one you understand.
- Oil
- Oil and filter changed, with the grade matched to what the engine calls for.
- Tune
- Tune-up items looked over so a rough idle gets caught before it gets worse.
- Tires
- Rotated front to back, with wear patterns read before they are put away.
- Brakes
- Pads, rotors and hoses inspected for thickness, glazing and leaks.
- Fluids
- Brake, coolant, transmission and washer levels checked and topped as needed.
- Diag
- Anything that felt wrong on the drive in gets a detailed diagnostic, not a guess.
